5-Day Great Migration Mara River

After breakfast, we will leave Arusha and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch box. You will drive up the crater highlands, making a quick stop at the rim for an out of this world view of Ngorongoro Crater. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in Swahili, 'endless plains'. The park has 6,900 sq. miles and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. We will continue the game drive for the whole day.

After an extensive game drives and enjoy the beautiful nature of the parks, we will transfer you to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, after an early breakfast, you’ll make your way to the northern Serengeti and the Mara River to see the Great Migration. Our safari guide will be sure to find the best spot.

The Northern Serengeti offers a chance to escape the crowds. This region of the park is wedged between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to the north. Therefore, it is remote and relatively inaccessible which means it sees fewer visitors. Travellers who make it to this corner of the Serengeti will be rewarded with gorgeous landscapes of green rolling hills, granite outcrops and acacia woodlands dotting open savanna. You'll see incredible wildlife and most importantly, massive herds of wildebeest and zebra making the dangerous crossing of the crocodile-infested Mara River during the great migration. This happens in June and July, August, September and October. Meals and your overnight stay will be at your carefully selected accommodation.

Get up early and enjoy breakfast before continuing with your game drive to see the Great Migration. Later we will drive back to the central area of the park for our overnight stay.

The Serengeti National Park is among of the largest park in Tanzania with diverse amazing landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. And is well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest depending on the rain season, you may have the opportunity to witness thousands of animals on their search for food and water.

However, be ready to see resident predators, such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, fulfilling their role in the circle of life.

After an early morning breakfast our tour guide driver will pick you with lunch boxes to go to Ngorongoro crater. 

Ngorongoro Crater is among of UNESCO world heritage sites in Africa and is one of the Natural wonders of Africa which constitutes the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world, with the presence of about 30,000 large mammals resident all year. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It's also famous for its elephants which, are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. Expect to see many other animals here within a short time, including buffaloes, lions, cheetahs and many varieties of birds such as flamingos, eagles, and buzzards. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World.

After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.
